Volumio Music Streamer

Retro-Futurism of the 1950s and 1960s

My Volumio music streamer uses a Raspberry Pi platform with a touch display and IQAudio Pi DAC. In addition to accessing hundreds of free streaming music stations, I am using the Spotify plugin.

The streamer’s aesthetic was inspired by mid-century modern architecture and design, in particular The Jetsons and the orange and turquoise palette of Howard Johnson’s hotels. I’ve also been told that it has a Time Variance Authority look, which seems fitting.

I designed the enclosure using Blender, trying to keep the shape organic and retro-futuristic. The final cases are printed on a Prusa MK3S+ using PETG.
